The meeting will be organized in 2 parts.

Part 1 : 09h00 - 12h00

Develop a francophone approach in the fight against diabetes

This meeting will present 2 objectives:

• Present to the missions of French-speaking countries to the UN in Geneva the problem of diabetes and particularly diabetes in Africa
• Create a network of French-speaking countries to develop a French-speaking approach in the fight against diabetes

 

Part 2 : 14h00 - 18h00

Innovating in the fight against diabetes in Africa by integrating different training programs for health professionals and patients

This meeting will present 2 objectives :

• Present the initiatives developed in different French-speaking African countries
• Create exchanges between the different partners to identify gaps to fill and complementary initiatives to develop

The presentations to reach objective 1 will be made around 5 presentations:

• Diploma courses (DES in endocrinology and DU in diabetology)
• Continuing education for doctors and paramedics
• Training to develop therapeutic education
• Online training (diabetes africa nutrition course, geneva diabetes MOOC)
• Training around care (chair of philosophy at the hospital)
